Bryan held a special place in many dance halls, especially the Empress Ballroom at the Blackpool Dance Festival, where he was always found in his designated chair, watching the festival with a keen eye and deep appreciation. His extensive knowledge and passion for dance were evident through his numerous columns in Dance News and other publications over the years. In addition to his work as a writer, Bryan was a devoted dance teacher and mentor, providing invaluable support to countless dancers. His encouragement and wisdom helped shape the careers of many aspiring champions.

Bryan also worked closely with DanceSportInfo, offering his expertise and assistance whenever needed. His collaboration with DanceSportInfo was a testament to his commitment to the dance community, and his contributions were highly valued.

He served the British Dance Council as an officer and delegate to all WDC members for many years with utmost diligence, loyalty, and belief in what was right, especially in turbulent times. Bryan was many positive things, but most importantly, he was fiercely loyal. The highlight of his career was his term as BDC President from 2009 to 2020, where he truly showed his dedication, determination, and proud spirit.
